Hair Replacement Systems
I offer a range of methods in creating Hair Replacement Systems. From full mesh based, to meshless, to hybrid systems, I am passionate about creating bespoke and tailored fittings that make you feel beautiful. I have trained under Sharni Knighton to be able to bring this method to my clientele and have developed and adapted my methods to suit my clients' needs. No one system is the same and that is why I love offering them.

What is it?
Integrated systems are a great solution for individuals experiencing unwanted hairloss or thinning.
The most popular methods are Mesh Based and Meshless. Both are non-invasive and breathable semi-permenant systems which are installed with small beads. Mesh based has a flexible mesh on the biological hair, and meshless can be used when the hair density is enough to create a base.
A lace or silk closure is then installed to the head via the mesh and/or beads; and wefts are then fitted and styled as your own hair would be.
As the hair underneath is protected, it is a great method to encourage hair health and growth - so is an ideal solution for thinning hair due to hormonal changes, such as postpartum, menopause and HRT; or chemical damage . It also provides a physical barrier between the hair and the wearer, giving protection for the hair from conditions such as Trichotillomania, and creating a safe space for recovery of hair affected from Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment.
The mesh and beaded bases provide a weight distribution across the head, making wearing the hair extensions and systems discreet and comfortable to wear.

Why would I choose Mesh Integration?
Hair systems are great options for when other, more traditional methods of adding hair falls short.
Many clients choose this method when they are living with:
-
Alopecia
-
Trichotillomania
-
Post Chemotherapy
-
Telogen Effluvium
-
Child birth and pregnancy hair loss
-
Medication related hair loss
-
Diet related hair loss
-
Receding hair line
-
Hereditary hair loss
Most clients for this service have up to 70% hair loss.

Hair extensions are great to add length and thickness, but only work if there is enough biological hair in terms of length and density to disguise the fixture (whether that be a bead, tape, bond or stitch). They also rely on the quality and integrity of hair in order to attach to - and sometimes length or breakage can be limiting.
Wigs are brilliant to create a new look and fast, however, they can often look unnatural and don’t always feel secure. I also understand the hardship that can come mentally from fitting and taking off your wig on a daily basis.
Having a fitted system gives a solution to the above problems.
Your system can be applied across areas of complete hair loss if a foundation can be made around it. It also imitates your natural hair and moves much more freely than a wig, and is treated the same as your own hair in terms of washing and styling.
It feels like the hair you deserve.

What should I expect?
Upon meeting for your consultation, we will discuss your hair, needs and what you want from your system and new hair. It is best to bring inspiration pictures to this appointment so we know what colours and styles you like.
We’ll have a look to see if you are a suitable candidate for Mesh Integration or alternative systems, and if so, we can look at colours and density of hair to see how we can best achieve your dream hair that blends with your natural.
We will then order in the hair for you and arrange the fitting appointment. This is usually at least 3 days after the consultation to allow for the hair to arrive - if it is required sooner, this is an option we can explore upon request.
During the appointment, we will fit your new system, cut it to shape and give it a complementary style for you. It may feel slightly tight for the first few days and take some getting used to (just like with regular hair extensions), but it will relax as it starts to loosen and grow.
What is the Maintenance?
As your natural hair grows, the integration will move with it. There are two sets of maintenance appointments I suggest in order to keep it fitted and looking its’ best and most natural.
The below timeframes are a rough idea and will vary. You may find you need them sooner or at the latter end of the bracket.
4/6 Weeks
I check in to make sure you and your biological hair is healthy and tighten the closure on the top and front of the system, This keeps it tight to the head and maintains the natural looking hairline.
4/6 Weeks after this
At the 8-12 week mark from your first fitting, I will do a full refit on the system. This involves removing the wefts, beads, mesh (if used) and closure, and washing your biological hair. At this point, we can also add in treatments or trim the hair if requested.
I will then refit the system using the same closure and hair, but replacing the beads and/or mesh, and restyle it for you!

How do I look after it?
As you would your natural biological hair!
I recommend washing the system (whilst on your head) once a week - with extra care taken around the top closure, washing in a smoothing motion as opposed to scrubbing.
Light brushing and detangling will maintain the life of your hair and also the appearance.
Keeping the hair hydrated is also key to its longevity.
I would recommend the following products:
Sulfate free Shampoo and Conditioner
Hydrating hair mask
Heat defense spray
Hair oil
You can treat and style the hair as you would your own, but lots of heat applied will shorten the lifetime of the hair.
As the hair isn’t growing from the head with a living follicle, it won’t have any natural oils hydrating it, so it is important to add these in yourself to stop the hair getting and looking dry.
I have been working with IntelliMESH closures (see left) since training with them - and the quality of hair is excellent.
