Hair replacement systems

I offer a range of Hair Replacement Systems, including full mesh systems, meshless systems, and hybrid designs, each created with care and attention to suit you as an individual. I am passionate about providing bespoke, tailored fittings that not only address hair loss or thinning, but also help you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful.

I trained under Sharni Knighton, allowing me to bring these specialist hair replacement methods to my clients. Since then, I have continued to develop and refine my approach, adapting each system to meet the unique needs, lifestyle, and hair journey of the person wearing it. No two hair replacement systems are ever the same, and that’s exactly why I love creating them. Each piece is designed to be as individual as you are.

WHAT ARE HAIR SYSTEMS?

Integrated Hair Systems are an excellent solution for individuals experiencing hair loss or thinning, offering both coverage and support while protecting your natural hair.

The most commonly used options are Mesh-Based and Meshless Integrated Systems. Both are non-invasive, breathable, semi-permanent systems that are installed using small, discreet beads.

  • Mesh-Based systems use a flexible mesh fitted over your natural hair to create a supportive base.

  • Meshless systems are suitable when there is enough natural hair density to create a secure foundation without a mesh.

A lace or silk closure is then fitted to the head using the mesh and/or beads, with wefts added and styled just like your own hair, creating a natural, seamless result.

Because the natural hair underneath is protected, integrated systems can help encourage hair health and regrowth. They are an ideal option for hair thinning related to hormonal changes such as postpartum hair loss, menopause, and HRT, as well as chemical or heat damage.

These systems also provide a protective barrier, making them suitable for individuals affected by trichotillomania, or those looking for a gentle, supportive solution during hair recovery following chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

The mesh and beaded base help to evenly distribute weight across the head, making the system comfortable, discreet, and secure to wear on a day-to-day basis.

WHY CHOOSE MESH INTEGRATION?

Hair Systems can be a life-changing option when more traditional methods of adding hair are no longer suitable.

Many clients choose a hair system when they are living with hair loss related to:

  • Alopecia

  • Trichotillomania

  • Post-chemotherapy hair loss

  • Telogen Effluvium

  • Pregnancy and postnatal hair loss

  • Medication-related hair loss

  • Diet-related hair loss

  • Receding hairlines

  • Hereditary hair loss

Most clients who opt for a hair system are experiencing up to 70% hair loss, where other solutions may no longer provide enough coverage or security.

While hair extensions are wonderful for adding length and thickness, they rely on having enough natural hair — in both length and density — to safely attach to and discreetly disguise beads, tapes, bonds, or stitching. When hair is fragile, broken, or sparse, extensions may simply not be the right solution.

Wigs can be a fast and effective way to change your look, but they don’t always feel secure or natural. I also understand the emotional toll that can come with putting on and removing a wig every day, which for many people can be mentally exhausting.

A professionally fitted hair system offers a solution to these challenges.

Your system can be fitted over areas of partial or complete hair loss, as long as a stable foundation can be created around it. It is designed to move, flow, and behave like natural hair, and can be washed, styled, and worn daily just as you would your own.

Most importantly, it feels secure, personal, and freeing. It feels like the hair you deserve.

WHAT IS THE MAINTENANCE?

As your natural hair grows, your integrated system moves with it. To keep your system secure, comfortable, and looking as natural as possible, I recommend two types of maintenance appointments.

The timeframes below are a general guide and may vary depending on your hair growth, lifestyle, and individual needs. Some clients may need appointments slightly sooner, while others may sit comfortably at the later end of each range.

Maintenance Appointment 1: 4–6 Weeks

This appointment is a check-in and tightening service to ensure both you and your natural hair remain healthy and comfortable.

During this visit, I will:

  • Check the condition of your biological hair and scalp

  • Tighten the closure at the top and front of the system

  • Ensure the system remains secure and close to the head

This helps maintain a natural-looking hairline and keeps the system feeling neat and comfortable as your hair grows.

Maintenance Appointment 2: 8–12 Weeks

Around 8–12 weeks after your initial fitting, a full refit is recommended.

This appointment includes:

  • Removing the wefts, beads, mesh (if used), and closure

  • Washing and checking your natural hair and scalp

  • Optional treatments or a trim, if requested

Your system is then fully refitted using the same closure and hair, with new beads and/or mesh, before being restyled to leave it feeling fresh, secure, and beautifully blended.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY MANE SYSTEM?

Just as you would your natural hair! I recommend washing your hair system while it is on your head around once a week. When cleansing, take extra care around the top closure, using a gentle smoothing motion rather than scrubbing, to protect the integrity of the system.

Regular, light brushing and detangling will help maintain both the appearance and longevity of the hair. Keeping the hair well hydrated is key to ensuring it continues to look soft, healthy, and natural.

Recommended Products

To keep your system in the best possible condition, I recommend using:

  • Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner

  • A hydrating hair mask

  • Heat defence spray

  • A nourishing hair oil

You can treat and style the hair just as you would your own, however excessive heat styling can shorten the lifespan of the hair. Using heat mindfully and always with protection will help preserve its quality.

Because the hair is not growing from a living follicle, it doesn’t receive natural oils from the scalp. Adding moisture through the right products is essential to prevent the hair from becoming dry or dull over time.

I have been working with a range of hair closures since my qualification, and seek those with only exceptional hair quality and natural finishes.
